I was asked if I could paint this picture. I said yes and then freaked out. All my insecurities started screaming at me. Shame said, “Who are you kidding? You’re not an artist!” Fear said, “What if…..what if it doesn’t turn out? What if they don’t like it? What if you can’t do it? What if you fail?” And my heart said, “Just do it. Try! You might not be perfect, but you don’t have to be. Perfection is not the goal. Creating a feeling, is! Creating the opportunity to hold an emotion, is! And so I did it. Every piece I do is better than the last…..if my art speaks to you in some way…..it’s fulfilled its purpose.
