Hey there! I wanna shout out a tidbit for you to think on. If you are social distancing (and I hope you are) with others under the same roof. You may find that the “togetherness” may be wearing. You may once again be reacquainted with all the annoying habits that the other humans exhibit. You might feel that your kids are challenging as hell. You may feel like your partner or roommate is out to annoy you – ON PURPOSE!!! This is the time to have GRACE. See this situation for what it is. A challenging time for all….and by all, I mean ALL. The introverts are annoyed that you’re in their spaces. The extroverts are going squirrelly not being able to see all the people. The kids are actually unsure what all the extra energy is that’s floating around and are acting LIKE KIDS. No one is specifically trying to annoy you….except maybe my 19 yr old is trying to annoy me. Okay no! He’s just trying to survive without playing MTG with all his geek buddies. Have grace for everyone including yourself. If you overact, take a moment to regroup; apologize for whatever you need to apologize for and carry on. But afford the same goodwill to everyone under your roof and with whom you come in contact with. It’s SO important. See the best in people. Believe the best in people and we will make it through this. #somethingtothinkabout #isolationexpert #havegrace #seethebest #belivethebest

I am LOVING this opportunity to spend time with my family right now. Jude is thrilled to be shoveling and I’m thrilled to be able to plant my garden soon. I didn’t think I’d have time to get my garden done this year, with how busy it’s been at the shop but this time is a gift. And while uncertainty looms, I’m still ever so grateful for moments like this! #sharethejoy2020 #gardening #urbanfarmer #langleybc

Hey! It’s Patti here! How are you doing? I’m okay. I feel a crying jag brewing. Been feeling like this for the past few days. Not because I’m depressed or panicking but I can feel the emotions rising and I know that I’ll need a big release soon. I keep reaching for the creative outlets like writing, painting, baking, sewing and singing but sometimes even they feel like too much effort. It’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling. But if it’s contributing to a downward spiral then take measures to do healthy things. Things like going for a walk or FaceTiming a loved one. Or journaling or doing something creative or something that brings you joy! I’ll be sharing some things that bring me joy and I’d love to see things that bring you joy. If you use the hashtag #sharethejoy2020 we can all share in each other’s joy. Sound good? Looking forward to seeing your joy in the coming days!

I’m exhausted and yet I’m laying here in bed, thinking ALL of the things. Honestly, from a Mental Health standpoint, I’m probably in the best place that I’ve been in years and yet the Uncertainty keeps reminding me of how little control, I truly have. And when the desire to escape, ignore or run away from my feelings/problems rises up; I keep reminding myself to turn toward myself. To embrace the pieces and parts of me that seem less than or undesirable. To check in and ask myself, what I’m feeling and what I need. All too often, I just need to actually acknowledge the feelings for the intensity and depth of the feelings to simmer down. I find that in the “turning toward “ myself, there is so much freedom. Over these next days and weeks you may feel it necessary or beneficial to turn toward your self. To sit with her or him and ask what you need from yourself at that moment. You may be surprised at what you hear or sense in response. . #covid_19 #anxious #turntoyourself #xangelle

I feel like we’ve done a weeks worth of activities today as we worked through the anxiety and uncertainty of these days. When the emotions ran high, we processed through words and pictures and art. We’ve played memory, got a LOT of dirt for the garden, made chicken veggie soup, played war, pulled the dead plants out of the garden, watched shows, played Xbox and even did about 3 mins of yoga until we were all stretched out. At least we did a few deep calming breaths. It’s hard to believe that we have about 4 hours to go, today. This is gonna be EPIC! #socialdistancing #doingallthethings #mentalhealthawareness #covid_19 #stayathome
