I crawled out of bed this morning. Got dressed (even in a dress and tights), did my hair and make up…..grabbed a coffee, sat on the couch and thought, “I just can’t do this!”So I didn’t. I didn’t force Judah to go to school. I didn’t encourage him to go. I didn’t cajole him, either. I opted out of all the things. I cried a little. Had some more coffee. Fed my boys and then kicked them down to the basement to play video games (all day, if they want)…..and then I sat….until I felt ready. I set two goals 1. Clean the Kitchen and 2. Don’t spend all day crying. That’s it. I’ve almost accomplished number 1. I’ve rocked number two. And by taking the pressure off myself, even for a moment…..I’ve managed to accomplish a few more things that I hadn’t planned on. I even fed my kids lunch, as opposed to having them forage. I’m sitting again. It’s okay. #beeasyonyourself #itsokaytostop #taketime #maketime #selfcare #youreimportanttoo #soweary #specialneedsparenting #parentingthroughtrauma
