Tonight I ran, not because I wanted to – but because it was imperative for my mental health. I spent most of the day overwhelmed and tortured by anxiety. So many racing thoughts, so many silent tears, such a huge internal battle……and tonight I was exhausted and worn out from fighting. Fighting for peace. Fighting for sanity. Fighting for life. It's been a rough week for me as far as anxiety/depression goes. I'm not feeling suicidal AT ALL, but I can sympathize with those who do feel like that. Just wanting the internal battle and mental and emotional pain to stop… To have the thoughts stop racing. To have everything just feel still and quiet……..it has felt so loud and busy inside myself and I've just wanted it to all stop. And so, tonight I ran even though I, desperately, didn't want to. I needed the endorphins. I pounded out 7.3kms in an hour and now I am tired, going to bed and praying that tomorrow is better than today. #100daystowardsmyself #anxiety #mentalhealth #exercise #running #beinggentlewithmyself
