{"id":783,"date":"2010-02-05T10:36:11","date_gmt":"2010-02-05T17:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/?p=783"},"modified":"2010-02-04T13:50:18","modified_gmt":"2010-02-04T20:50:18","slug":"planning-and-contemplating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/planning-and-contemplating\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning and Contemplating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been pretty good about weekly meal planning for the last 3 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This past Monday while grocery shopping, Jon made a comment about how it would be nice to have a 2 week schedule laid out and to be able to shop for the staples at one time and then to just be able to do a weekly produce run.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking about this more and more.<\/p>\n<p>it would be so nice to be able to do a big shop twice a month and to not have to take a portion of every Monday&#8217;s (our day off) grocery shopping.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s menu looks\/ed like this:<\/p>\n<p>Monday:  Homemade Turkey Soup and Salad<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday:  Taco&#8217;s (beans &#8211; for me, ground elk, cheese, lettuce, peppers, salsa)<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday:  Ham and Rice and peas<\/p>\n<p>Thursday:  Homemade Lasagna and Salad<\/p>\n<p>Friday:  Salmon\/Tilapia and Quinoa with Brocooli and Cauliflower<\/p>\n<p>Saturday:  Scrounge Night<\/p>\n<p>Sunday:  Roast Chicken, Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, Salad<\/p>\n<p>I think that I&#8217;m gonna plan out next week&#8217;s meals and then look at the 4 weeks of meals and plan out a months worth of meals ahead of time.  Then I&#8217;ll plan out what I need to pick up for 2 weeks worth of staples and print that out to shop with.  I&#8217;m still working out the best way to be able to add in those things that we run out of, but I&#8217;m hoping that this will help to cut down on the number of trips that we need to take in a month.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll see if this works out in as well as I&#8217;m hoping it does.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve been pretty good about weekly meal planning for the last 3 weeks.
