{"id":1424,"date":"2010-11-25T16:40:16","date_gmt":"2010-11-26T00:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/?p=1424"},"modified":"2010-11-25T16:44:39","modified_gmt":"2010-11-26T00:44:39","slug":"maple-taffy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/maple-taffy\/","title":{"rendered":"Maple Taffy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So it&#8217;s been snowing ALL DAY and the kids came straight home from school today and I&#8217;ve not seen them inside yet&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>I was trying to think up a fun snack for them and I wondered if it would be easy to make maple taffy and really&#8230;.it couldn&#8217;t be easier.<\/p>\n<p>You need real maple syrup and snow.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, you need to boil the maple syrup first, but really that&#8217;s not difficult.  Most of the articles that I read mentioned a need for a candy thermometer but I just winged it and VOILA&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/xangelle\/5208028234\/\" title=\"DSC_0002 by Xangelle, on Flickr\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5043\/5208028234_9a6f546830.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" alt=\"DSC_0002\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>You boil the maple syrup for a while.  It needs to get over 260 degrees Fahrenheit and it needs to thicken up a little, so I probably boiled it for about 10 mins.<\/p>\n<p>Then I took my pot outside and found some clean snow and using a spoon, drizzled some onto the snow. So Delicious and so easy. <\/p>\n<p>Have you made this before?
