{"id":124,"date":"2007-12-01T18:49:26","date_gmt":"2007-12-02T01:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/?p=124"},"modified":"2007-12-01T18:49:26","modified_gmt":"2007-12-02T01:49:26","slug":"diwali-celebrations-nov-15-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/diwali-celebrations-nov-15-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Diwali Celebrations &#8211; Nov 15 &#038; 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/xangelle\/2074934578\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" width=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2026\/2074934578_b244cb9f37_m.jpg?resize=180%2C240\" height=\"240\" style=\"width: 180px; height: 240px\" \/><\/a>We live in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and I LOVE IT!<\/p>\n<p>The school where our kids go is maybe 75% Indo-Canadian, and generalizing (<em>which I hate doing, but it&#8217;s just eaiser in this instance<\/em>) they are the nicest, friendliest, most family oriented, group of people you&#8217;ll ever come across.<\/p>\n<p>We just celebrated Diwali at our school.\u00c2\u00a0 There was food and dance and henna and the kids and staff even wore the cultural suits.\u00c2\u00a0 It was so much fun.<\/p>\n<p>The girls borrowed some suits from our next door neighbor, and felt like princesses in them.\u00c2\u00a0 they even got their hands done by one of the mom&#8217;s at the school.\u00c2\u00a0 This was a week or so ago, and you can still faintly see the designs on their hands.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a pic of the girls in all their glory:<\/p>\n<p><center><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2303\/2074141449_baab0a75bc.jpg?resize=375%2C500\" height=\"500\" style=\"width: 375px; height: 500px\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We live in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and I LOVE IT!
