{"id":103,"date":"2007-09-15T11:12:16","date_gmt":"2007-09-15T18:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/?p=103"},"modified":"2007-09-15T11:13:45","modified_gmt":"2007-09-15T18:13:45","slug":"and-were-moving-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xangelle.com\/dailygrind\/and-were-moving-on\/","title":{"rendered":"And We&#8217;re Moving On&#8230;&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are still doing the healthy food thingy over here, in fact Jon is halfway through a real honest to goodness cleanse.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s doing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartbomb.com\/rl53523.html\">First Cleanse<\/a> by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.renewlife.com\/\">Renew Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Its a gentle cleanse, and takes 15 days to do.\u00c2\u00a0 It says that based on the toxins and &#8220;stuff&#8221; (<em>my term not theirs<\/em>) that it&#8217;s clearing from your body you might feel like crap (<em>again, my words &#8211; not theirs<\/em>) and possible have an upser tummy or (<em>wicked &#8211; my adjective &#8211; not theirs<\/em>) headaches for the first 2 to 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>When I did this cleanse last year, I had a bit of a headache for the first 2 days, and was fine after that.\u00c2\u00a0 Jon, on the other hand, felt like someone took a 2 x 4 and wacked him repeatedly in the back of the head\u00c2\u00a0 for a whole week.\u00c2\u00a0 That was on top of some intestinal discomfort, and EXTREME fatigue.\u00c2\u00a0<em> He must have needed some cleaning out, eh?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Just over a week into it, and he&#8217;s starting to feel human again.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, we are still trying to be healthy and eat healthy, and I&#8217;ve found the MOST AMAZING cookie recipe, and being the sharing type that I am &#8211; I&#8217;m going to share it with you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oatmeal Cookies with Zucchini<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>1\/2 cup shortening (I use Organic butter)<br \/>\n3\/4 cup honey<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 cup of whole wheat flour (I use Kamut flour)<br \/>\n1 cup of regular flour (I use 1.5 cups of Spelt flour)<br \/>\n1 tsp baking soda<br \/>\n1 tsp cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp of nutmeg<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp salt<br \/>\n1 cup grated zucchini<br \/>\n1 cup oatmeal<br \/>\n1 cup raisins<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><em>\u00c2\u00a0 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.\u00c2\u00a0 Cream together the shortening and honey.\u00c2\u00a0 Add the egg and beat well.\u00c2\u00a0 Stir together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.\u00c2\u00a0 Add the\u00c2\u00a0 dry\u00c2\u00a0mixture\u00c2\u00a0 alternately with the zucchini to the egg miture.\u00c2\u00a0 Stir in the oatmeal and raisins.\u00c2\u00a0 Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.\u00c2\u00a0 Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>These are DELICIOUS, and I even made some last night and didn&#8217;t have any zucchini on hand, but used canned pumpkin, and they are amazing.\u00c2\u00a0 I think I might try it with carrot as well.\u00c2\u00a0 They are a bit muffin-like in texture, and one of these days I&#8217;m going to try and make them with a butter substitute like oil or applesauce.\u00c2\u00a0 Then they would be wheat, sugar and dairy free.\u00c2\u00a0 For now, I&#8217;ll be happy with the wheat and sugar free side of it.<\/p>\n<p>So, this post has taken forever to type (cause I was nursing), and now I have to go and get changed because Sia barfed his entire feed all over me and him&#8230;&#8230;lovely!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ta Ta for now!<\/p>\n<p><em>ps.
