Sometimes it hurts to parent a child with anxiety. We've been working through this book (and it's fabulous) but Siah was sharing about how he feels scared to get up and go to the bathroom in the night time. The top picture says "a monster will be under my bed". His solution – "count to 5 and rub my knees". It breaks my heart to see him working through the same fears that I had and to see how hard he struggles to live and fight against anxiety. Telling your child that it's not normal to freak out because their food is touching or because their hair feels messy……it is their normal…..it's all they know. #anxiety #siahchristopher #mentalhealth #talkaboutitopenly #picstitch
