We just had a HUGE dump of snow, and then immediately had some freaky warm weather. The temps went from -5 degrees to 13 degrees from one day to the next.
It started snowing on Saturday, and came down in HUGE FLUFFY GIANT FLAKES! And it snowed off and on until Sunday Evening when it started to rain, and by Monday the snow was mostly gone, and you didn’t even need a jacket outside it was so warm.
 WEIRD!
Anyway, on Sunday Afternoon Jon went outside to play with the 3 older kids. I figured they’d be back in fairly soon ’cause IT WAS COLD…and Jon hates being cold. If there is anything that he hates more than being cold – it’s being wet and cold.Â
Three Hours Later, everyone comes in yelling for the camera. Apparently they needed to take pictures of this:
I love making these kinds of memories with the kids.
What are your memories from winter or Christmas time from when you were a kid?
I remember my dad building an igloo with Shannon and I in the back yard….. great memories! also at youth camp one year we went to Mt Baker and my dad was the speaker and he made the most wicked fort under ground in the snow… tunnels and slides….it was AMAZING… pretty cool to have a designer for a dad and see his creativity even in the snow!
Emily went out and tried to build an igloo today after seeing the picture above with Gelli… but to no avail… our snow is so dry and powdery she couldn’t get it to stick…. and -27 is a bit cold to be carting out water to make it stay! 🙂 yup it’s pretty cold up here….the instant snot freezing in your nose kind of cold..then when you go inside you have to be ready with kleenex cuz it melts just as fast!!!
love you guys
see you soon
we fly down on the 20th…. we want to come over for a day! let us know what works for you…we leave again on the 28th
it says “three kids will do that to ya” In your about me ? 3?
Gabe and I are VERY impressed!!
love the igloo. good job family
